..in a country where they turn back time…

Now bear with me on this..

Older readers may remember the song “The year of the Cat” by Al Stewart. Lq left today’s parties with the words ringing in his ears.

In essence, for lq, the song is about being led astray - and enjoying it - with no care for tomorrow.

He thought about quoting bits from it, but out of context, they made no sense.

Then just copying all the words here - it makes a most excellent poem.

But words are not enough.

You’ve just gotta have the sax…. cool grin

So, dear reader, if you have a few minutes listen to this

and then answer the question:

Which of les girls would lead you to the hidden door - and why?

Brilliant song choice LQ! Brings back memories of when I was 8! So young and innocent and waiting for LMP to corrupt me! grin

Year of the Cat, a classic song.

This just made me get my Al Stewart album out and there’s a track called “If it doesn’t come naturally, leave it” and another one called “Soho (needless to say)”

Thanks LQ for introducing me to a great track…never come across Al Stewart until now but can see he is a talented musician, who has played with some greats. Good lyrics too.

i’ll even answer your question…. Karen….not just for her appropriate (cat mask) photos, but a seeming ability to communicate with her eyes as we party together….definitely leads me astray and i imagine that she’d be great company as we journey down that meandering river!

Can answering the question first make me teacher’s pet at Sunday school??!!

Glad you liked it chaps and well done to Raj for geeing everyone up to start posting songs on the other thread. Raj, I think you’re onto a winner there!

Pyramid - re your Sunday School prize - you’ll need to check with Cleo if it’s a prize or Charli and Antonia if it’s punishment wink

And my choice for the girl would be…....

Lorena.

Because she fits the part. Somehow I can just imagine her coming out of the sun in a silk dress running and grabbing one’s arm…
