Thought it might an be an idea to start a thread that is dedicated to non-LMP activities - Movies that we’ve seen or music we’ve listened to or general observations on life in general…..proving that we are mature well-rounded individuals who appreciate that although LMP is the greatest thing in our lives we are capable of things outside it…..arn’t we? - alright who’s kidding who…..

Lets see how this one plays out….

So Biggy likes watching 2 and a Half Men - I’ll be generous and assume its a TV programme - and not some gay fetish…..

Anyway onwards - watched Star Trek last night - the prequel…..the acting was a bit cringe worthy at times and at the end the Bridge of The Enterprise looked like it been taken over by the cast of Buggsy Malone - but it was a cracking story and Eric Bana was great as the mad Romulan Captain Nemo….

It looked great with some terrific action scenes and Leonard Nimoy brought a much needed gravitas as the elder Spock - much better than I expectd..

and Zoe Salandar as Uhuru would look great getting chupped on the LMP swing…..

Old Boy is superb but really harrowing - and the bit with the octopuss (yuk) - big fan of Korean horror movies in general….

Saw the first movie a while back and thought it was really cool - love and vampires….top combination - new one looks good as well….

a really miserable day up here - and no LMP - so a movie catch up….

Rope - one of my fave Hitchock movies - very clever and the way he gets all the gay references in (for 1948) is very well done

Them (or Ils as its also known) - fairly scary one about a couple under attack in a house in the middle of nowhere - some effective scenes but kinda seen it all before.

Dead Snow - Zombies - Nazi Zombies - Nazi Zombies in Norway - every cliche in the book but great fun….the kind of movie that would have Tarantino going “Damn - wish I’d thought of that”.....

Roll on tomorrow’s new posted line-up…

I’ve been reading the Prequel to Dune books since August

Legends of Dune series and then the Prelude to Dune series, now I’m half way through my old copy of Dune with a much better understanding of all the houses and how the spacing guild came into being.

managed to watch the first DVD of the Dune TV series as well today.

Wow -Frank Herbets Dune series - read the first 4 or so many years ago and I know there are loads more - cheated and read the synopsis on Wikepdia…....just to find out how it all ended - although I think the David Lynch movie is great (although he disowned it) the TV series is very good - got the Children of Dune episodes on order…we will call you Muad’Dib….

I had a feeling this thread might kick off…....what an erudite bunch we are….

All of the books in the series are listed here on the official Dune Web Site

http://www.dunenovels.com/

You have to start at the Butlerian Jihad, Machine Crusade and Battle of Corrin series then read House Atriedes, House Harkonnen and House Corrino before you read the original Dune series.

I might have to have a break from Dune and go and read books 1 and 2 in the Third Series of Thomas Covenant The Unbeliever.
