Has anyone discovered Mad Men? I’ve only recently started catching up with series 1, well worth a view.

Yes… top drama… and loads of sexy, curvy ladies in it!

I must be missing LMP, I’m getting excited by the Women’s Rugby World Cup Final, England v New Zealand, wouldn’t mind scrumming down with some of these. And I always thought rugby was a game played by men with odd shaped balls.

Sherlock - missed this when it was on TV - and just been sent the first two episodes on disc - always been a fan of Mr Holmes since I was a kid and this is terrific stuff - the way they have updated everything - mobile phones, the internet ect but still require the leaps of logic - the writing is razor sharp with performances to match - and the way they sneak loads of in-jokes and references to keep the fan boys happy - I was almost cheering by the end - loads more of this please…...

Agree about Sherlock the third one is excellent. The Beeb have commissioned a second series, I thought that Martin Freeman & Benedict Cumberpatch worked really well together, Freeman’s Watson going through life as pleasantly perplexed, rather than the bufoon Watson has been portrayed as in the past.

That was always the problem I had with the Basil Rathbone movies - as almost all the Holmes stories are written from the viewpoint of Watson - and he would hardly cast himself as a none too bright old duffer - the best ever is of course the Jeremy Brett stuff but this new series could give them a run for their money…...

You’re right those SSN girls are really hot, and I’ve fancied Annabel Croft for ages.

I’ve always been a fan of the Holmes stories since being read A Speckled Band by our English teacher when I was about 11. Nigel Stock played Watson well opposite Peter Cushing in the 60’s. But I think Jeremy Brett is the definitive Holmes, and I thought Edward Hardwicke played Watson well.

I bought the Sherlock DVD from Play.com this week it has the unshown pilot episode on it as well as the 3 episodes that were shown, looking forward to seeing the next 3, I loved the use of the modern technology in the series, especially the GPS tracking.
