So I watched the new Sherlock Holmes on BBC last night completely different set in modern times and using new technology GPS trackers on smart phones !!!

It was good but 221b wasn’t real as that’s actually the Santander Offices in Baker Street

Who certainly used to employ someone to reply to all the Dear Mr Holmes letters - when they were the Abbey National - doubt that will happen today - forgot it was on so must catch up on Iplayer - loved the idea where Watson has been sent home wounded from Afghanistan - execept its not 1886 - its 2009…..

Sex and Drugs and Rock and Roll….Ian dury 3.5/5
Some interesting flash back bits in the movie about some of the abuse he suffered because of the polio he contracted when young, but overall the movie lacked something? There was less music in it than i expected.

I really liked it - thought Andy Serkis was extraordinary in the role - after 5 minutes you forget you’re watching an actor - its The Man up there on the screen - and Bill Milner just gets better - hope he can made the leap into adult acting…...

Went to see the following at the IMAX in London in 3D… so I guess that makes a good film great in itself…

Shrek 3D - Not as good as the first but still goof fun - 4/5

Toy Story 3 - Best Toy Story of them all and my personal fave movie of ALL time - 5+/5

And… yes, I was blubbing in the end with all the other guys… kids and mrs were laughing at me!

What is it about TS3 that reduces the entire manhood of our nation to blubbering wrecks…..looks like they have hit a primal chord….

You know it has to be done - somthing like 45 episodes for £45 - and so much better than 2 episodes per disc - should pass the long Autumn and Winter evenings…

It is considering HMV (where I first saw it) had it reduced from £90 to £70 but thought I’d check Amazon first…...
