Bad Lieutenant - Remarkable movie of a cop way beyond out on a limb with an electric performance from Nic Cage - not an actor I can normally stand that much of but his twitchy drug-fuelled neurosis was just amazing - very clever plot as well - highly recommended.

Robin Hood -  Oh dear - we’ll all been here before - Scott and Crowe can churn this stuff out in their spare time (and a lot of this looks like they did) - Blanchett brings a welcome fiestyness to Marion and Hurt and Sydow invest it with all the dignity they can but its all fairly dull lacking the passion of Gladiator or the wide-screen poetry of Kingdom of Heaven…...so unless you’re really bored…..

That’s a shame, as with Sherlock Holmes I’m a sucker for Robin Hood films or series. I’ll still give it a watch mind.

The Expendables…....Hard man cast, all action film. The usual cliche’d story line but still a very enjoyable watch & Stallone has still got it!! 4.5/5

Four Lions -  Is it possible to make a comedy out of British would-be Jhadist suicide bombers? - Chris Morris reckons there is and he’s right - a very funny satire of 4 lads from Sheffield who want to be martyr’s but are none too bright and it all goes wrong - lots of laugh out loud moments (and some unconfitable ones as well) but its a very brave and succesful attempt to tackle a subject not normally associated with laughs…

I know where I am going on holiday next….

although been mightly cheered by the amazing rescue of the Chilean miners - was amused to read that one was greeted by his wife….and his mistress - neither of whom were prepared to give an inch before the camera’s - handbags at dawn…..bet he wishes he’d never been rescued rather than face the two of them….

I’ve not seen so many minors come out of the ground since they dug up Fred West’s patio. 

I reckon this Chilean miners thing was just a ploy so they can justify hanging about wearing really cool sunglasses…...

You have to feel for the Guy.
Imagine trying to explain away why you where at LG when you got trapped.
Mind you after a 69 day LMP, I think I might be passed caring.
