I don’t think it was necessary to be sarcastic. The Yank merely stated his opinion.
This forum works because be it a new or long standing member, frequent or occasional attendee: everyones’ opinion is respected and welcomed. If this is not the case, new comers will be put off posting and possibly attending.

I just thought Moss and Em ought to know that, at least for some of us, there is both respect and appreciation for what they do and the kind of people they are and the price increase is not a deal breaker. Not every post should be treated as stand-up comedy.

I am sorry if Yank (or anyone else) failed to take my comment with a pinch of salt……..
I thought I’d followed up with an adequate enough wink to let him know that of course I was not being too serious, and that certainly I meant him no insult or no ill will.
Honestly, I just meant it as a bit of banter, and would have said the same thing to a friend if we were sitting having a drink in the pub. I don’t think anyone genuinely considers that the contribution increase was unfair – but, even though they know it, that’s not to say we should be overly zestful in reminding, I imagine most of you know what I was playfully getting at. As everybody knows, during the parties themselves, you hear many tongue-in-cheek (occasionally semi-offensive) remarks, and they are generally taken with a pinch of salt, returned in fair measure and greeted with a good humor. I don’t know if you agree or disagree, but I feel that is part of what creates a good atmosphere at LMP.
