Agreed - last thing we want is that regimented PN format - amd how would LQ’s poetic ones fit in - free flow is the best - both at the parties and in the report…..

i agree on the formatted ebing could lead to reports being mechanical,

just a constructive thought i’d put to the forum…..

wouldnt make any sense in any case as the majority of reports are written by newbies

plus its a choice of the writer how he writes it

If you read all the other comments on Jock’s report that you cited, then you would see that this gained some excellent recognition from regular contributors, so it really doesn’t make any sense to suggest a different format. In fact, I can’t recall reading a report that made me think, “Oh we need a standardised format” - the parties are all memorable for those who attend and experience them and the reports tend to reflect that individual’s degree of ecstacy. We all have different writing styles and some of us also vary how we report (more succinct, or more descriptive) - long may that continue!!

Sorry niceguyjames, i’m sure it was a well meaning thought but it ain’t going to happen here. Still, we look forward to reading a report from you sometime soon.

Rgds,

Pyramid

Ahem….

A request from James who opines
“Even if the reports are in rhymes
They all should conform
To a standard and norm
Of three paragraphs, names, dates and times”

“That may work for you” said LQ
“Though others have fair points of view
Yes, reports should entice
And perhaps give advice
Some say they are tools in the loo!

But for me they are mostly to say
‘Thank you les girls - WOW! Wheyhey!!’
So in poetry or prose
Let’s celebrate those
Who make us feel kings for a day”

c 2010 the “look I told you you were barred until you could shag me properly” leclerq

Thanks Pyramid.

After Stevie’s post, I just couldn’t resist. Thank’s Stevie for dangling the red rag!

HOWEVER…

James, you have a fair point.

A solid wall of text is very difficult to digest. In fact, like you, I found the “three pager”, whilst entertaining, extremely hard to read.

But a session at LMP can either leave one lost for words or induce gibbering verbal diarrhea.

Especially when trying to describe the sheer ecstasy one’s just gone through.

So folks, I guess the bottom line is - if you are writing to your own “Dear Diary”, write it up whichever way you like. Witter on…

If you want other people to read it….

Check how it looks on screen.

Use short sentences.

And paragraphs.

And do tell us the truth about Pyramid’s tongue… cool grin

Thanks TSM.

I quite like long reports - it’s just solid walls of text are difficult to read.

Spacing between lines lets one pause for breath.

Or in Martin’s case to change hands cool grin

Perhaps you need some quantitative easing - which I always thought sounded pretty rude on its own….
