While I don’t like to see any players get injured (especially Chelsea players)I couldn’t help smiling when I saw Rooney on crutches on sky sports news when I got home after Tuesday’s 7 to 9 party.

One less threat to deal with this Saturday ... hopefully United will keep to form and lose the saturday premiership game after playing in europe in the week.

Capello must be having nightmares about his squad selection.

Hey even the referee’s don’t understand the current offside rule ... it used to be so much simpler when I were a lad.

If there wasn’t a defender between you and the goalkeeper when the ball was passed forward you were offside ... none of this was he active or not crap!!!

Lets hope both Fab and Roons are OK for the world cup. It will be a poorer tournament without them.

OK so Drogba’s goal should have been disallowed for him being offside but United’s goal was handled over the line!!

End result the right team one and are back on top.

Did the Gooners score in proper time or is Wenger taking a leaf out of Sir Alex’s book and invoking Ferguson injury time (clock continues till they score).

liverpool on the other hand just go from worse to worse,

anyway we have the saving grace of we may get into the champs league next season via the UEFA cup assuming we win it

Does the winner of the Europa League or whatever its called qualify for the"Champions” League (a misnomer if there ever was one)? If so that’s another triumph for mediocrity. It’s devalued enough by letting 2nd, 3rd and 4th places in. The Europa League in turn is devalued by allowing failed “Champions” League teams in, all done in the name of foo….sorry money.

the winner of the europa cup does not qualify for the champions league through winning

the only way to qualify for the champions league is from your league position

and liverpool arent gonna win it anyway - i think fulham have more chance

I thought the winner of the Carling and FA Cups get automatic qualification? - or is that only to the Euro thingy? - I only ask as Tottenham have slipped out of the top 4 and as we have the top 3 one after another over the next 3 weeks (thanks for that Premiership)our chances are receding but we still have a possible FA cup win (if only Villa can beat Chelsea)...i need to buy a new abacus to keep up with all this…..

It’s funny when I first saw this thread I thought Rooney had sustained his injury at LMP.
